Beastiary The hostile wilderness is home to creatures both predator and prey... only a few of which have ever been studied and thoroughly documented by man. There cannot possibly be any written record large enough to catalogue every creature that is known to exist beyond our walls; the wilderness stretches on forever, and expands into other realms, realities, and landscapes that are collectively known as Contsoltania. The ecosystem is so varied and vast, that only a fool would ever believe that mankind has developed an understanding of the forest's entire denizens. We've documented the more well-known and frequently encountered creatures of the forest, such as game animals, major predators, and other creatures that're inhabitants of the surrounding wilds. Beyond the horizon, there can only exist countless more creatures that have only been briefly seen or sketched. Uralghan: Easily-angered and terrifying in combat, uralghan are tremendously large predators who live solitary lives, primarily keeping to their own hunting grounds when not provoked. Their incredible strength, quick tempers and relentless savagery give reason for all sensible creatures to give them both their fear and respect. Thankfully, these nightmarish beasts are considerably rare, but their scarcity has left us little understanding of their behaviour and ecology. Vaxijaw: These eerie pack-hunters are the most frequently-encountered predators of the food-chain's lower rungs. Their haunting giggles and disorientating movements make fighting them both disturbing and disorientating, and they work to sow fear, confusion and frustration amidst their prey. |
