Tera-Keya
Pronunciation: “Terrah-key-yah”

Originally derived from a miner’s digging tool, the tera-keya is believed to have evolved as a weapon once miners and archaeologists started facing off against subterranean horrors deep beneath the world’s surface. Since then, the weighted force and crushing impact of this mighty weapon has made it particularly favoured by warriors seeking to inflict massive, devastating blows upon opponents with little heed to defensive actions. Tera-keyas are primarily chiselled from roughly-hewn stone, staying true to their utilitarian origins. A large, pointed spike protrudes from the tera-keya’s striking end, the heavy mass weighted behind the brutally-sharp spearhead allowing it to penetrate a creature’s flesh even deeper. Even after being adapted to combative uses, the mighty tera-keya still remains effective at its more practical uses… cracking apart rocks, unearthing soil and severing tree roots and overgrown vegetation from burrows, making it versatile as well as powerful.

Use and techniques
While the tera-keya is respected for inflicting massive damage upon opponents, one should be aware that the weapon’s considerable weight places a burden upon a warrior’s attacks, and fairs poorly when lifted against faster, swifter opponents. Vaxijaw, for example, are infamous for their disorientating movements and unpredictable responses to a prey’s panicked struggles, and are known to fell even the heartiest warrior who relied too strongly upon a tera-keya’s crushing force to protect him against such relentless predators. As it seems, tera-keya are well suited to damaging heavily-armoured, slow-moving or lumbering opponents that find dodging attacks difficult, so the tera-keya’s potency should never be overestimated.
